Weekend Shenanigans 4/8/2013



   On Saturday my sister Elizabeth picked me up to shop and have a girls morning with her and baby Anna. Poor Anna woke up Friday with her eye swollen shut! Saturday she was looking and feeling a million times better so we ended up in San Antonio. We had a nice lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, the conversation was nice, the service was horrible. I was really surprised, my tostada pizza was delivered to me, cold, yuck! After blowing some bubbles I went home to be greeted by Blake waiting for me to go bike riding. We went to Cibolo Nature Center, where we were married, and found this secret spot. To me, it looks like we are at a lake, but we're not. Blake impressed me once again with his boarding skills! We finally went to the Boerne Starplex movie theatre on Saturday night, I have been looking forward to going for quite some time now. The movie we saw was Olympus Has Fallen, we enjoyed it. Sunday was spent being super lazy, which I prefer, and then we ended the weekend watching the ACM awards and a rerun of The Voice. Perfect weekend, I look forward to the next!

A New Journey: 8/6/2012

   It should come as no surprise that I am not happy with my body and have been praying for motivation and strength to do something to change myself. Well, my prayers have been answered as I was selected to participate in a ninety day CrossFit challenge! I had no idea what I was getting myself into until after I was selected. I read over the obligations and rewards of the challenge, we (the lucky ones who were selected) will work out three times a week, have before and after photos taken, and get a makeover at the end of the challenge. This is all being put together by a local magazine here in Boerne. I don't start my journey until September 3rd but I am already very anxious to begin. I've told family and a few friends, everyone seems to be very happy for me but I've also been caught off guard with the "Do you even know what CrossFit is?" question. Truth is, no I didn't. Holy Moly I have been doing research and can I just tell you now I can't even do a push-up, not even a girl push-up. When asked to rate my athletic ability I ranked myself a two- I can breathe and walk. My body is going to be shocked if I don't do some prep work! Terrific Tuesday: 5/22/2012



A look back at a few events that have been occupying my time. Above is a picture of me & my Dad at Cibolo Creek's first farmhouse! Our little town has it's very own Farmer's Market every Saturday and at the Market you can tour the old mill, first hand dug water well, and this gorgeous house. In addition to all that you can also hike the trails! It was a family affair and I was as usual impressed with my Father's knowledge.

You are never too old for face painting! Our cute little town also opened a water front walk all the way around the river. The grand opening was super fun and the new walkway is awesome!

boerne market days

what a wonderful weekend my husband and i had. every second saturday & sunday in boerne is called market days. it's a chance for many different stores, boutiques, food carts, and artists to come to our town, set up booths and display their items.

blake & i have always enjoyed this certain collector & designer. today we found these two incredible items and fell in love. blake is so wonderful about my unique and vintage taste. he appreciates my passion for birds, turquoise, and cottage like things.

this weekend was wonderful, i cannot wait to start the week and continue on this beautiful journey with my sweet husband, blake. i am so proud of him & love him so.
