It's Ok Thursday: 4/19/2012

Its Ok Thursdays
link up here

So happy to have made it all the way to Thursday! What a week it has been. My insomnia is out of control. And let me tell you there is nothing to do in the middle of the night, anything on television is awful yet not boring enough to put me to sleep, and if I start reading I don't want to put the book down. Suggestions wanted!

It's Ok

...to use dry shampoo 3 days in a row (guilty)
... to have a spontaneous movie day (teachers only)
... to have a countdown of how many days until summer vacation (again, teachers only)
... to have piles upon piles of laundry
... to dream about big projects you want to accomplish yet have no idea where to start
... to get excited about the mailman mistakenly putting someone's magazine subscription in your mailbox (score)
... to be an adult napper
... to know bikini season is around the corner but you love your body and don't feel the need to change it
... to spend four dollars on Starbucks because it makes you feel better
... to keep your opinions to yourself (facebook diary)
... to pray about everything!

What are your okays for today?

*April is National child abuse prevention and awareness month. Support the cause by wearing BLUE this month.

Fill in the Blank Friday: 4/13/2012

link up here

Happy Friday the 13th!

1. Today is a good day because: it's Friday, duh!
2. The best thing I did all week was: sleep in!
3.  The current weather is rainy and it makes me super duper happy!
4. The best thing about spring is watching the bluebonnets and wildflowers grow and planting new colorful flowers!
5. A fashion trend I can't wait to try out is: the Aztec print phenomenon.
6. A person who made me smile this week was: my dad, I'm happy he is feeling back to normal, I'm also the most thankful for him.
7. The most delicious thing I ate all week was: homemade vegetarian lasagna made by my little sister.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance" (James 1:2-3)

- to wear leggings everyday, as long as you pass them off as pants with an extra long shirt/tunic
- to occupy your 'work' time with pinterest & blogger
- to have already started your christmas wishlist

question: would anyone be interested in a gift swap? maybe clothes, jewelry, accessories, i was thinking it would be fun. let me know your thoughts.

sunday sayings

i thank god for giving me today.
this day will begin with prayer. i give thanks to Him for this life. i might not always understand the struggles and difficulties but i know my purpose is greater. i will serve Him and rejoice in his blessings. i may not be perfect but i am a child of God. He wants me just the way i am.
children remind me to be faithful and to be an example to them and for Him.

my husband is a loyal football fan. i don't think he misses any game...ever.

i love these creepy signs. i think they would be an awesome diy weekend project.

tonight is the season finale of true blood, can't wait.
thinking i might make these for me and blake to snack on while watching.

remember that saved by the bell episode?!

enjoy your day and the blessings you all have in your lives. remember that prayer works and God is so good all of the time.

10 day YOU challenge: 2 songs & WILW

two songs...

1) crash...dave matthews band

2) got money...lil wayne

crash was the first dance with my husband at our wedding.
got money always gets me pumped and i played it and danced to it prior to the ceremony on my wedding day.

i also want to put in what i'm loving wednesday!

boardwalk empire on hbo sunday nights before true blood.
love this show and its rich with history, check it out if you haven't already.

sharpies! love every color & use them daily. i actually prefer writing with them.

psssssst dry shampoo ( i swear by this) it's super cheap, like $5 and can be found at walgreens and now even walmart. it's amazing

nicole richie's boho style. she is probably my style icon.

my latest diy project, i modge podged this table in our guest room. looks awesome now!
my diy desert tray (making these for family members, upon request (!!!) yay, and thinking of making holiday and wedding gift ones)
i made this gem for rebecca and brigham. filled it with homemade chocolate chip cookies.

happy hump day!

prepare your taste buds, friends.

1) quorn chicken

2) spinach salad with feta cheese, and strawberries

3) chocolate cheesecake

4) vegetarian mexican pizza

5) mac and cheese

i created three desert trays yesterday! total cost for each was .75, yes, seventy five cents!
blake & i brought over chicken, and a desert tray filled with chocolate chip cookies to rebecca and brigham. they were both so happy, which in turn made us happy.

blake & i are going to comfort today to do some thrift shopping! very excited!
