It should come as no surprise that I am not happy with my body and have been praying for motivation and strength to do something to change myself. Well, my prayers have been answered as I was selected to participate in a ninety day CrossFit challenge! I had no idea what I was getting myself into until after I was selected. I read over the obligations and rewards of the challenge, we (the lucky ones who were selected) will work out three times a week, have before and after photos taken, and get a makeover at the end of the challenge. This is all being put together by a local magazine here in Boerne. I don't start my journey until September 3rd but I am already very anxious to begin. I've told family and a few friends, everyone seems to be very happy for me but I've also been caught off guard with the "Do you even know what CrossFit is?" question. Truth is, no I didn't. Holy Moly I have been doing research and can I just tell you now I can't even do a push-up, not even a girl push-up. When asked to rate my athletic ability I ranked myself a two- I can breathe and walk. My body is going to be shocked if I don't do some prep work! Below are some photos of people doing the CrossFit workouts. I will definitely keep everyone posted on this blessing I have been given!

A New Journey: 8/6/2012

It's Ok Thursday: 4/19/2012
link up here
So happy to have made it all the way to Thursday! What a week it has been. My insomnia is out of control. And let me tell you there is nothing to do in the middle of the night, anything on television is awful yet not boring enough to put me to sleep, and if I start reading I don't want to put the book down. Suggestions wanted!
It's Ok
...to use dry shampoo 3 days in a row (guilty)
... to have a spontaneous movie day (teachers only)
... to have a countdown of how many days until summer vacation (again, teachers only)
... to have piles upon piles of laundry
... to dream about big projects you want to accomplish yet have no idea where to start
... to get excited about the mailman mistakenly putting someone's magazine subscription in your mailbox (score)
... to be an adult napper
... to know bikini season is around the corner but you love your body and don't feel the need to change it
... to spend four dollars on Starbucks because it makes you feel better
... to keep your opinions to yourself (facebook diary)
... to pray about everything!
What are your okays for today?

Fill in the Blank Friday: 4/13/2012
1. Today is a good day because: it's Friday, duh!
2. The best thing I did all week was: sleep in!
3. The current weather is rainy and it makes me super duper happy!
4. The best thing about spring is watching the bluebonnets and wildflowers grow and planting new colorful flowers!
5. A fashion trend I can't wait to try out is: the Aztec print phenomenon.
6. A person who made me smile this week was: my dad, I'm happy he is feeling back to normal, I'm also the most thankful for him.
7. The most delicious thing I ate all week was: homemade vegetarian lasagna made by my little sister.
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance" (James 1:2-3)

link-up with Lauren here
(one) When I was a child I wanted to be an anesthesiologist when I grew up.
(two) As an adult, my dream job would be a mother and dog rescuer.
(three) When I was younger I wanted to be just like Fiona Apple.
(four) The childhood Halloween costume I remember most was when I dressed up as a baby...pacifier, tweety bird slippers, and a mu mu.
(five) My favorite childhood toy was my plastic shopping cart full of my belongings. My granddaddy used to call me a bag lady.
(six) The time that I got into the biggest amount of trouble when I was a child was when I got caught drinking and received an M.I.P, I let my parents down and I peed in my pants. Shameful.
(seven) I get daily inspiration from bloggers, my students, and pinterest.
On my to-do list today is to check out the new website www.wanelo.com it's where you can purchase PINTEREST products/inspirations.
I also failed to mention yesterday that on Wednesday night, Mr. D surprised me with that Nikon camera I have repeatedly put on my blog! I am such a lucky girl, I can't wait to show you all pictures!
Happy Friday!
