It's Okay... 5/9/2013

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Okay...

... to order pizza rather than cooking
... to think 19 days is a long time
... to check your phone when you have a free minute (instagram)
... to think about your future as if you were pregnant
... to pick off your own shellac
... to be an enrichment teacher and be pumped when a class is on a field trip
... to think snapchat is amazing and to send unattractive photos of yourself to friends
... to analyze your dreams
... to think Friday night t.v. is awesome (Dateline, Shark Tank, 20/20)
... that for the first time in months (9) I have had coffee almost every morning this week
... to already be excited about the next school year
... to secretly be dreading my would be due date May 22, 2013
... to recognize infertility has changed me and to miss the old me

Missing the New

Lately I've been reminded that ignorance is bliss. It's no surprise that I have been struggling. There are many particular things that I've had a hard time accepting. Something that I miss is being new, new to something. For instance, when I began teaching I didn't really know how things worked. I wasn't ever worried about what others thought about my teaching style, about the way I looked, I wasn't ever afraid to speak up or speak out; that's completely changed. There is a bliss that comes along with not knowing certain things, or people for that matter. I began teaching never thinking I was being judged, and slowly over four short years that has become the opposite. I often catch myself worrying about what other people think about me. It's serves no purpose, and it has just changed me. I wish I was still that young, naive, new teacher. There is something so refreshing about being new to something and the ignorance that comes along with it. I can't come up with the correct way to articulate the feeling that I have, or a particular situation, so this will have to sufice for now. Am I the only person who feels this way?

It's Ok Thursdays

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Ok...

... that I've lost 10 pounds and YOU CAN'T TELL!
...that yesterday I got really pissed when a motorcycle took MY parking spot (no, we don't have assigned parking, but come on that's MY spot)
...to really want a new Victoria's Secret PINK zip up hoodie
... to be pissed when your DVR records your shows but you can't watch them
...to be pumped for Spring Break and not have any plans
...to complain about your job but still be in love with what you do, hey everybody has those days
...to think it's hilarious that Kris Humpries has "revealed" that the Kardashian's show is scripted...shocking!
...to be worried about your finances

Yes, Kim, we know it's true.

Don't forget about my giveaway! Head on over to The Life of Bon to check it out.

Saw it Pinned it, Did it & It's Ok...

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok...

- that it was difficult for me to go workout this week.
- that meal planning/prepping is my new favorite thing.
- that I am over this year, and by year I mean school year.
- to want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on workout clothes
- to wonder about other peoples relationships (in a non creepy way, just curious)
- that I have really long curly hair, but still believe if it gets past my butt it will magically become straight
- to stay up at night on instagram (follow me @hohodryden)

Spaghetti Squash

Pinned Image
This is the original pin (mine totally would not have meat on it)

Another blogger posted this recipe and reminded me that I had pinned it so on Tuesday night this is what was for dinner. I told Blake I would be cooking spaghetti squash and he was excited, when I asked him to come and cut the squash in half he did and then asked where the noodles were. "These are the noodles", I said as I picked up the two halves and placed them face down on a baking pan. He was not amused and quickly informed me that he would be making his own dinner. Back to the squash, preheat the oven at 350' then when ready, put the squash in for 35 minutes. After you have taken the pan out of the oven, you take a fork and basically scratch the inside of the squash and it will be so tender that the noodle like sides almost collapse into pretty yellow noodles. I was really surprised at how much the squash after baking, looked like noodles. I covered mine with a little marinara sauce and took my first bite. Yumm-o and crunchy, I liked the crunch. I had enough left over to pack and prep for Thursdays lunch. Total calories: Squash was only 42 and the marinara was 45 so my GRAND TOTAL was only 87 calories!

(three) My favorite Fall treat is: candy corn.
(four) Fall makes me think of our anniversary.
(five) Autumn free form word association, go: Breezy, football, colorful, changes.

Today is going to be a fantastic day. We have early release today! I have been awake since four, not sure why I can't sleep so I am sure that by noon I will be ready to nap.
So, I started a board on pinterest, workin' on my fitness, and I am happy to report that everyday I have been having my students do jumping jacks, and to touches with me. It gets their wiggles out and gives me that extra boost of energy.
  Happy Friday, ya'll!
