a saturday movie review

limitless
***** stars
bradley cooper, robert de niro (actors)

blake & i spent our friday night watching this thriller/action movie. the movie is about a struggling writer (bradley cooper) whose life mimics that of a homeless person. he is given a pill that allows 100% access to his brain. suddenly he has the power to remember, recall, and react to everything around him. the depth of his access is explored throughout the movie which keeps you intrigued. but, as we all know, something too good is usually too good. so at what cost/limit is it worth to take this pill? watch the movie & find out.

it was really good, the ending left you thinking "what?!?! more, more, more!", which is always good.
the acting and cinematic filming was awesome. 'on demand' it tonight!

~~~~~~~~~~
got up this morning to check out some garage sales and local thrift shops. i am looking for books and storage solutions. i have also decided to have a craft saturday! my older and awesome sister, remember, the pregnant one, gave me a wreath for my classroom so i plan to turn it into something awesome. i also have a guest room table that needs some tlc. so, i have a date with modge podge and wrapping paper. i will post pictures later.
happy saturday!
miscellany monday: 8/8/2011
1) today i am motivated to get outside and workout.
2) i plan on finishing these stools that i got over a month ago:
3) i am going to continue to make healthy meals for myself and stick to my diet plan. down two pounds.
4) i plan on unpacking one box and finishing my crayon wreath for my classroom.
5) i do not understand reality tv. i don't know anyone who sleeps with their makeup on, wakes up with perfect makeup & hair. if you are going to be real, then be real! i am sort of sick of all of this genre.
6) i am looking forward to katie holmes new movie, don't be afraid of the dark, or something like that, it looks scary!
7) i want to do a beauty giveaway.
whose interested? leave me a comment and your email address!
bella bell update
warning: some photos might be too graphic
we had our final check-up yesterday and i am delighted to report that miss. bella bell doesn't need anymore surgeries. yes, her eye is a little wonky but the doctor says with due time it will slowly come down.
i think she looks beautiful. i am happy she is alive, peppy, and full of life. she acts like nothing happened and that nothing is wrong with her. i can report that she is still a feisty little one playing with her big sister daisy mae.
i was told that the above picture was offensive. it really pissed me off. this is what MY dog looks like, she is a survivor, and i love her. i refuse to not feature or show photos of her.
everyone knows its hot as a hell and down in the hill country we are under a heat advisory until 10p.m. tonight. i did unpack a box today, yay me, thanks eclectically e for the motivation.
here's a photo i took for your viewing pleasure:
it's our headboard! excuse the mess but like i said, i am working on organizing this beautiful home.
the big ole move
wow. what a rough couple of days we have had. moving takes everything out of you. hiring movers was the best decision ever, they were in & out in less than two hours. now we have the tedious task of unpacking everything. we have so much stuff! here is a little preview of what has been going on at the dryden's...
after
miss. bella bell is such a miracle
before (inside drawer)
and after a little creativity and mod podge
the guys just taking a break
my awesome brother garren
our angel in her new king bed :)
there is so much to be done and it's overwhelming today. my sweet brother garren came over yesterday to help me move my clothes and holy moly i have so much stuff that the three closets plus wardrobe rack will not hold my stuff. it frustrates me knowing i must go through & give away. i even gave my housekeeper a ton of stuff yesterday but not even close to the amount i need to throw out. blake & i have decided to take it easy today, we deserve the break.
bella bell & daisy may are getting used to the new place but both are SHOCKED by the amount of space they now have (2,000 sq. feet) the hardwood is amazing, you just hear there pitter pattering feet/nails throughout the house. the huge windows bring in so much light and not to mention heat (!) so i purchased twelve heat/cool resistent curtains in hopes of controlling the heat. so far so good.
i feel a little guilty that i am not unpacking boxes and setting up the house but i just want to relax...
do you ever feel guilty when you have a huge 'to-do' list?
what i am loving wednesday: 7/6/2011
hi everyone. it was an exciting weekend spent packing, moving, throwing out old stuff, and collecting a few new pieces of junk along the way.
saturday we went to the new house and found one of our neighbors was moving to austin and they were giving a way a set of perfectly fine wooden chairs (score!) along with the chairs they were getting rid of this really vintage-looking peddle car. double score!
today i am loving the end of the casey marie anthony trial and the possiblility of a movie. ( i will not state my opinion on this topic)
i am loving the new season of trueblood
i am also loving all these amazing spray paint colors:
i love the idea of rain! we sure need it here in texas:
lastly i am loving framed fabric:
happy wednesday to you all. i cannot wait to begin on a few diy projects i have, new lamp shade bases, the framed fabric, burlap ottoman, and a few transformations to my current jewelry boards. stay tuned!
show & tell saturday
today was a wonderful day. blake and i went to pick up a china hutch and begin our first transformation project.
we have recently been shopping around for an antique china hutch with a country cottage twist. well here in boerne there are several amazing antique stores and all potential prospects were very pricey and not antique.
so we decided to try craigslist. i found the perfect candidate. cheap, what we wanted, and a project. we picked up the item this morning and had previously purchased antique white paint and a robin's egg blue paint. we were ready for the challenge.
before....
this only took us two hours. we work great as team. it's been the best saturday we have had this month.
and now, for the after....
isn't it just so beautiful? blake and i adore turquoise and white. the knobs were purchased about three years ago and blake did not like them. i at the time thought they could be crystal doorknobs... ha-ha no, they are definitely knobs. we are happy to display our wedding china and waterford crystal.
hope everyone has as great of a saturday as we have.
