from nothing to something
today i have decorating on my mind. here is a photo of the back of our house, deck is not finished in this photo. our deck is now complete and is an antique white color. i love it. blake is the gardener of the two of us and he asked me if i had any ideas for what i want done. i certainly do! i want color, antique fixtures, funky accents and lots of herbs/vegetables and flowers. i know blake cannot wait to get his hands dirty and really make the new backyard our own.
i do not like buying anything that is new besides clothes. i love going to local thrift and antique stores looking for hidden gems. i often find things that i have a vision for and blake just thinks is junk. lately i have been on the hunt for an old wheel barrow and old window panes. some places have the items marked for a ridiculous price and i have learned to haggle. i love it! i also have had some luck with craigslist.
i will go by the house later to update the blog with more photos, until then here are some garden inspirations...

show & tell saturday
today was a wonderful day. blake and i went to pick up a china hutch and begin our first transformation project.
we have recently been shopping around for an antique china hutch with a country cottage twist. well here in boerne there are several amazing antique stores and all potential prospects were very pricey and not antique.
so we decided to try craigslist. i found the perfect candidate. cheap, what we wanted, and a project. we picked up the item this morning and had previously purchased antique white paint and a robin's egg blue paint. we were ready for the challenge.

boerne market days
what a wonderful weekend my husband and i had. every second saturday & sunday in boerne is called market days. it's a chance for many different stores, boutiques, food carts, and artists to come to our town, set up booths and display their items.
blake & i have always enjoyed this certain collector & designer. today we found these two incredible items and fell in love. blake is so wonderful about my unique and vintage taste. he appreciates my passion for birds, turquoise, and cottage like things.
this weekend was wonderful, i cannot wait to start the week and continue on this beautiful journey with my sweet husband, blake. i am so proud of him & love him so.
