Little Things

Lately I have been giving thanks for the little things that we often take for granted. Have you ever felt that your heart lacked gratitude? Well, I have. I've found myself becoming bitter, often resentful, and I've now reminded myself that not only am I saved by His grace, but I am lucky. When I think that my boss is not treating me fairly I remind myself that I am blessed to have a job and a boss who has feedback for me. When driving behind someone whom I believe is driving poorly, I thank God that I have a car, and am capable of driving. Sometimes it's the tiniest things that need the most thanks.
With so much chaos and uncertainty in this world I'm certain of one thing, I am blessed, and saved by His great sacrifice. Remember that. We all have much to be thankful for, even in these troubled times.

Back to the Gym & Other Randoms

Yesterday on my 5 for five post I made one of my goals to not plop down on the bed to watch t.v. when I get home but to instead get my body moving. Imagine my surprise when I came home from work to find the Mister there, he gets home around six and it was 3:15, to take me to get an early Christmas gift; a gym membership for the two of us! The Mister chose a gym in Boerne that is open 24/7 which is perfect for us, especially me because I don't even want to be seen in spandex at the moment. But, I will get my body back, maybe not as quickly as I hope, but I will get there. My new goal for this week is to get the the gym at least four times before Monday.

Giving Thanks

Pinned Image

This year (I go by school year when I refer to years) started off slowly and then with the blink of an eye blasted off. I still can't believe it's the week of Thanksgiving. I've spent the morning reflecting on all the blessings I have to be thankful for. I would like to dedicate this post to the blessings God has bestowed upon me.
I am thankful for my husband. I would not have imagined that I could love him more today than I did on the day we said "I do", but it's true. With the recent loss I have come to realize God is preparing us for something "...good and perfect from above". I am thankful that my husband is my best friend and that he is a man of God.
My family is another blessing that I am thankful for. This thanksgiving season I am thankful for their health and presence. They are there for me when I need support, guidance, and unconditional love.
In a time where we are in a recession I am thankful that I have a job I love. I am also thankful to love the people that I work with, especially my sweet friend Erin. Erin is pregnant with her daughter Hayden, and she has been one of my greatest supporters this year.
I'm thankful for my three dogs who cuddle with me each afternoon and all through the night. They love me just because I am me.
This year has been a lesson. God has taught me that I wasn't seeing the entire picture. I focused on the fact that I wanted a child and didn't have one. I forgot about the blessings that were around me, that I already have. So that leaves me with the thing I am the most thankful for; God's eternal salvation and his ever knowing wisdom. I must remember that God has planned everything in my life already and I must trust in His timing.
I hope you count your blessings and remember to be thankful for all that you have.

Fill in the blank Friday: 3/9/2012

link up here

1. My favorite room in the house is the living room  because many are made there with friends and family as it is the heart of our home.
2. My current decor style is vintage junk chic, ha ha that's what my husband might say but I prefer shabby chic.
3. I wish I could redecorate my master bedroom!
4. My dream house absolutely has to have a master bath connected to the master.
5. One house item I am willing to splurge on is furniture, i.e. comfy cozy chairs, couches, mattresses.
6. A house trend I just don't get is modern style, I am not a fan of the put together clean lined empty look.
7. Photos and collections are a little touch that makes my house feel like a home.

Happy Friday, ya'll! Once the clocks strikes 3p.m. I will officially be spring breakin' it! Wa-hoo!

blessed

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy,
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
~ Matthew 5:3-10

we are so blessed to have had blakes parents come into town and help whip me into shape. kathy, blake's mom did everything for us. it has eased almost all of my stress as the school year is to begin tomorrow. she is such an angel, thank you, kathy!

i cried after they left, i hate saying goodbye.

it's nice to end such a good weekend knowing the house is unpacked, laundry is done, and everyone has their health.

god is so good all of the time!

i hope you have a blessed sunday!

blessings: 7/12/2011

yesterday started off as any other day until our youngest frup bella bell was nipped by our other bigger dog daisy. bella is 2.6lbs of pure fierceness and daisy is 80lbs of love (she thinks she is the same size as bella). bella's eye was hanging out, blood everywhere, chaos and panic. blake rushed into action and immediately drove to our vet. praise the lord for dr. quinn, he was able to operate and now our new one eyed baby is home safe. i am keeping both of my eyes on her and giving her a ton of love. of course she is a fighter so she is currently up chasing her new pink ball.

yesterday they finished the driveway. the wrought iron gate looks awesome. all thats left to do is paint a few bedrooms inside and clean then before you know it we will be moving in!

i am currently working on some diy projects, here are some photos so far...
